April flew by as I knew it would. When you have big things you are excited about they make time somehow slow down AND speed up. My in-laws (almost technically) were in last week for a wedding and the days were jammed pack. Sleeping was limited and it felt like I was on vacation myself. We ate out too much, every day to be exact, so it was not a week spent eating healthy, something I had a bit of a panic about one night, but let go of it, to just enjoy and not punish myself for it. It was all in all a pretty great month!
THEY GOT MARRIED!Β
My almost future husband’s brother got married last weekend. It was a beautiful small wedding on the Oregon coast, and it was great to witness. The Oregon coast, or the Pacific Coast in general, is one of my favorite places and it was a special place to get hitched. It also brought family to town, some family I hadn’t seen in almost two years, including my future niece and nephew.
HIKING IN SILVER FALLS
I cannot believe that we had never been to Silver Falls before. It’s so beautiful there and not too far from Portland. The hike was a bit too much for the family, but it’s a great park with clean trails that allow you to walk behind waterfalls of different heights and widths. It was such a beautiful day… sunny and with a slight breeze. It was also just what I needed to get back in to the season of hiking and camping.
LAST DAY OF SUNSHINE
Thursday was the last day of sunshine, for I don’t know how long. We had a whole week of beautiful weather and our family leaves and it turns back to rainy and chilly. We found a river that is only 20 minutes away and by this adorable tiny town. It was perfect besides the people that chose to set up camp directly on top of us. I’m not even exaggerating, they stood on my sandals. When we are out in nature and trying to have a relaxing day, we like to be away from people as much as possible. So we drove down the scenic highway along the river in search for a more secluded spot. A spot we can enjoy in the future. Also in our future? Tubing down this river. For sure.
MY AT HOME HIIT WORKOUT ROUTINE
Maybe you are like me and cannot afford a gym. We do have a small gym in our apartment building but it doesn’t really have anything in it. Maybe you just really don’t like going to the gym or do not have a lot of time to spend, whatever the reason may be, working out at home seems like a better or only option for you. That’s fine! You can personalize a killer workout that you can do in the comforts and confines of your home. Here’s mine. I do 3 reps.
50 JUMPING JACKS
25 CRUNCHES
20 PUSHUPS
20 SQUATS
10 BURPEES
25 PLIE OR SUMO SQUAT
35 SECOND PLANK
45 SECOND CHAIR SITΒ
